Guest blogger

This is Aunt Christin. I broke into Ali's blog to post some pictures from our recent visit. We had a really, really great time. You can read about it on our blog (there's a link to Gustafson family blog).

Here's Waylon with one of the cats. They boys hugged, pet, squished, and generally loved the heck out of the kittens.
Here's Hunter on Tom. We were so impressed with his riding. He is so big, definetely not a baby any more. We saw him last summer and I can't believe how much he's grown and changed over the last year.

Here's Rosie the puppy. She is super cute and wiggly.

And here's one more picture of Waylon. He was standing on the table in his underwear posing for me and saying "Howdy Ma'am". He is a goof ball.

The Baby Petting Zoo

Our house is crazy right now.  There are little babies everywhere.  We have 9 baby chicks, 2 baby kittens, 1 baby puppy and little baby  turkey.   The puppy thinks that she is a kitten and the kittens think that they are a puppy.  They are attached to each other, they sleep together, the kittens only eat the puppy food, the puppy (Rosie) lets the kittens (Maymay & Cali) nurse her belly (and loves every minute of it), when one gets up they all end up getting up.
So we have also had some trouble with a bear coming around our house.  A couple of weeks ago we received a call, on my cell from a friend, informing us that when we got home to be carful because there was a bear at our house. Myself and a friend flew home as fast as possible. Which was still a 20 minute drive. The friend Seth jumped out of the truck and ...........Missed.  This is a bad case.  The bear then came back not 2 hours latter. I know that there may be a person or two upset about this right now, however just keep reading.  Max (the bpa Dog) scared him off by barking. The bear then came back in the morning. That night Seth, the WA state fish and Game Guy and myself were outside talking.  It was about 8:15.  Which is still sunny. It's 10 right now and is just now dark.  Well anyways, that bear pokes his head around a corner not 10 feet away. Troy, Fish and Game Guy, runs for his gun.  oh man, what if that was one of the boys.  We fail to get the bear that night.  The next day at about 3:45pm. I was on the computer and out the window I can see the bear walking towards the house.  I grabbed the shot gun, which I put rubber ammo in. I crept out the front door and boom.  I shot that bear right in the head with a rubber bullet. Do you know what he did?  That bear walked off, he walked. I guess I'm not too scary with my rubber gun. However, I have not seen him since.
Lets see, what else has been going on? We are installing frost free faucets. So we have about 280 ft of 5ft trench all over the front yard. Just when my lawn was looking GREAT. NOT any more. I'm still working to get my garden in the ground. I have peppers, tomatoes, cabbage, green beans, eggplant, watermelon, yellow squash, carrots and "analopes" in the ground so far.  I still need to plant potatoes, green onions, walla walla onions and pumpkins. Around the yard I have growing rhubarb, strawberries, garlic, raspberries and herbs. Now we just need to see if I kill them all.  I'm really hoping I don't.
Next week Grandma Garnette and Grandpa Allan come up to visit, they get in on Tuesday. YEAH!!!!!  Then the Gustafson clan get here on Friday.  YEAH YEAH YEAH.  I can't wait to see how much Louie has changed.  Then my boys and Grands head back to CA   without me.  I have NO idea what I'm going to do with no kids for a whole week. I'll more then likely call at least 20 times a day and get the web cam working. :) Then on July 2nd, I get to fly down and visit everyone down there for a week. The next couple of weeks are going to be lots of fun.
Sorry no pics.  Wesley, I know I owe you some chicken pictures. I'm sorry. Seth still needs to show me how to work this computer.
Next time I'll have pics.

Relaxing between events at the rodeo.
Here are a couple of pics from after the rodeo.
Here is Waylon riding his sheep. He placed 4th and received a bucket full of goodies. When the gate was opened the sheep didn't move, so  Seth scared the sheep to get it to run.  We thought that his sheep was going to be hard to ride.  (we were wrong) This sheep was the only ram out of the bunch so he was huge compared to the others.
This last weekend was the Okanogon Jr. Rodeo.  Hunter placed 2nd in calf riding.  He was SO happy.  The boys really enjoy participating  in the rodeo's. He got $50 for his second place.  Hunter wants a buckle, that's what he is working for.
